A note from our founder

Sup! - I'm Ben. I'm a simple man and a self-proclaimed powderhound. In September 2020, I drew a logo in the dirt in the heart of Jackson Hole, and started what would become Superior.

I've been obsessed with snow for 15 winters, 8 in Utah. In 2014 I was involved in a night skiing accident.

I was hit at ~40mph by an out-of-control skier coming downhill at Blue Mountain Resort, PA. A double eject and a quick "Sorry, didn't see you there!" shifted the path of my life.

The injury (dislocated shoulder), and resulting surgery derailed my athletics career; and is something that I still deal with to this day - on & off the mountain.

Simply put - if this person had a pair of Superior’s, I would have never been hit.

For me, Superior is a commitment to developing best-in-class optics to prevent skiing accidents, and building an iconic brand in winter sports.

Drew 'Dutch' aka Mr Operator

Drew is a jack-of-all-trades, master of none, except slope grooming. In the winter he operates a Snowcat and creates the finest corduroy in the west at Alta.

Drew has deep experience skiing powder in LCC, ships orders, does general business things, and has supported some of my more insane ideas including starting this brand.

He's been through the ringer. In February '23 - Drew called me and said "I blew my knee". A couple doctors visits later, and the diagnoses was in: torn ACL. Not a great phone call in middle of the deepest winter on record.

After being blessed with a medical miracle performed by Heiden Orthopedic that summer, he returned to Utah to lay corduroy, ski way before the doc recommended (don't do that), and take out the trash.
